Pride cross country puts up quality showings at Seminole Valley Stampede

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Racing on back-to-back Saturdays, the Clarke University cross country teams touted multiple personal best times for the second-straight week after they ran at the Seminole Valley Stampede this morning.

The Pride women were down Claire Ronnebaum this weekend so it was the four-woman team of Rory BicklerRicar MendsMarina Mercado, and Lydia Radeke. Bickler finished with the top time for the Pride with a 19:51 for an 11th place finish as Mercado earned a PR, running 12 seconds better than her previous best time for a 21:28 on Saturday. Mends finished with a 20:44 and Radeke rounded out the team's results with a 24:17 in the 5K race.

For the men, Daniel Miller ran the top time for CU for the second-straight week as he put up a 28:14 for 43rd place overall in the race. Emmett Schwartzhoff earned the second-fastest time for the Pride with his fastest time of his career at 29:25, over 30 seconds faster than his previous best 8K time. Benjamin Vasquez (29:31), Kole Haverly (30:16), and Brennan Shelton (31:27) rounded out the team score for Clarke as they finished in 13th place as a team overall.

The next race for the Pride will be on Oct. 23 at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich. for their final regular season race of the 2021 season.
