Pride split final day of final home tournament of 2024

DUBUQUE, Iowa - In their last instance of playing two matches in a day, the Clarke University women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 win over Hannibal-LaGrange University and dropped their final match of the weekend 3-1 to York University on Saturday afternoon at the Kehl Center.

The Pride took care of business in slightly easier fashion than they did a day prior against the Trojans with their sweep on Saturday coming by scores of 25-10, 25-18, and 25-17 as CU was able to stay alive against the Panthers after dropping the first two sets but couldn't hang on past the fourth set as the match went 25-18, 25-19, 25-27, and 25-22 in favor of YU.

Saturday's opener saw the right side of the CU attack lead the way as Kortney Harms and Keely Colyer combined for 16 kills on 34 total attacks with only three errors for a .382 combined hitting percentage as both added a block assist for Harms to finish as the team's leading point scorer at 11.5 as Colyer finished second with 7.5.

Harms continued her strong triple-threat ability start to the season as the sophomore from Flanagan, Ill. stuffed the statsheet for the third-straight match, nearing another triple-double with nine kills, 12 assists, and 10 digs.

Clarke's outside hitters did more of the offensive heavy lifting against York with both Rachel Haubert and Maya Watters finishing in double figures for kills by the end of the four-set contest led by a new career-high 18 kills from Watters as she went 18-for-44 with six errors for a team-high .273 hitting percentage.

Haubert finished with a team-high in digs with 17 to record her third double-double of the season as she also had 14 kills on 40 attempts for a .175 hitting percentage in the match.

Both the York and Pride back rows were busy in the match as the Panthers finished with 68 total team digs and CU was right behind with 66 as Ariana Rodriguez and Harms added 11 with Rylie Bohanan producing 10 of her own behind Haubert's 17.

Harms had her second double-double of the day with a 21-assist performance alongside her 11 digs and Mia Jaeger finished with a near-double-double at 20 assists and nine digs on the opposite side of the rotation of Harms.

Clarke women's volleyball will continue their non-conference portion of the schedule next Tuesday, Sept. 10 when they host Central College for a 7:30 p.m. CT scheduled match at the Kehl Center for their only match next week.
