Pride fall in both Saturday matches to end tournament in Oskaloosa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa - Closing out a four-match tournament hosted by William Penn University, the Clarke University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to both Mount Marty College and St. Ambrose University on Saturday morning.

CU scored 20 or more point in half of their sets on the day as their hitting percentages took a dip from Friday's offensive performances with their best percentage coming in their third set against the Trojans at .189 as they were above that percentage for most of their sets yesterday.

Following a pair of 20-dig performances on Friday, Pride libero Rylie Bohanan produced double digit efforts in three-set affairs on Saturday with 14 against Mount Marty and 11 against St. Ambrose while Jessica Schaad also had 11 digs against the Trojans.

Schaad was the leader in kills for Clarke in each match but matched her seven kills against MMC and five kills against the Fighting Bees with the same amount of errors in each match for a .000 hitting percentage. The most efficient hitters for the Pride were Keely Colyer who hit .500 against Mount Marty and .200 against SAU with four and five kills respectively then Mattie Dafford had five kills in each match with a .235 hitting percentage in the first match and a .063 in the finale.

Clarke will travel one more time before returning to home matches next weekend as they'll play a mid-week match against Central College on Wednesday, Sept. 6 for a 6:00 p.m. CT start in Pella, Iowa before opening Heart of America Athletic Conference play on Friday, Sept. 8 in the Kehl Center.
