Pride drop second-straight home match to No. 10 Park

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Still in search of their first win in Heart play, the Clarke University women's volleyball team didn't pull off an upset on Saturday at the Kehl Center as No. 10 Park University earned a 3-0 sweep over the Pride.

The Pirates pulled away in both the first and third sets to 25-14 and 25-15 set wins respectively while CU was able to keep it close in the second set but still fall 25-22 in the middle set.

Park ended the match with dominant hitting performances from both Malaina Hensley and Maria Eduarda Ramos but espectially Hensley who finished with 16 kills and only one error on 27 attack attempts in the match for a .556 hitting percentage while Ramos added 10 kills on 23 swings.

Clarke struggled throughout the match to get into a groove on offense, finishing the match with a .066 team hitting percentage as the three primary outside hitters all finished under .100 in the match on a total of 88 of the team's 106 swings on the ball.

On the defensive side, Rylie Bohanan had her second-straight match with double digit digs as she and Rachel Haubert tied for the team high with 10 digs in the match.

Clarke women's volleyball will move onto the next week where they will host three-straight matches at the Kehl Center starting with a Tuesday night match against Grand View University on Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. CT.
