
Pride fall in four to Graceland
LAMONI, Iowa - Wrappiung up their weekend with their second-straight road match, the Clarke University women's volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Graceland University.
The Yellowjackets earned three-straight set wins after Clarke won the opening set 25-17, GU finished the match with consecutive wins by scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-22 to earn the win.
Abigail Smith of the Pride led all attackers with 16 kills while playing very efficiently as well with only four errors on 40 swings for a .300 hitting percentage over four sets. Smith scored a total of 22.5 points with a solo block and four block assists in the match while adding three aces for those 22.5 points.
Maddy Melvin provided the offensive support with a 12-kill performance as setter Cora Vyhnanek finished with 31 assists and eight digs and Rylie Bohanan had the match-high in digs with 24.
Clarke women's volleyball will be off until next Friday when they host Central Methodist University at the Kehl Center for a 7:00 p.m. CT match to start a stretch of three-straight home matches.
