Pride fall 3-0 to 20th-ranked Missouri Valley

MARSHALL, Mo. – The Clarke University women's soccer team was unable to snap their three-game winless streak after a 3-0 defeat to 20th-ranked Missouri Valley College Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings first goal came in the ninth minute when Viktoria Einsbor beat the Pride goalkeeper with a header over her head for Einsbor's sixth goal of the season.

Less than four minutes later, Missouri Valley made it 2-0 at the 13:30 mark when the Vikings leading goal scorer, Ashley Arribas buried her 11th tally on the year.

It wasn't the Pride's best offensive output as they could be outshot 16-4 for the entirety of the game and all four shots came in the first half of play.

Samantha Rodriguez, Abby Prunty, and Morgan Catchur were the three lone Clarke players whose shots would require a save.

In the 53rd minute, freshman Julia Richardson would make the score 3-0 unassisted on her 2nd goal of the season.

Making the three saves in net for the Vikings was freshman Lola Benitez as she picked up her third shutout of the season.

Starting her second game in a row for CU, Faith Krapfl made 5 saves in just over 59 minutes of game action. Replacing Krapfl to play the final 30 minutes, April Lashomb would make two saves without surrendering a goal.

The Pride women's soccer team will look to get back on track on Tuesday, Oct. 24th when they head to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to play Mount Mercy University beginning at 7:30 P.M. CST.
