OLATHE, Kan. – Looking to pick up their second win of the week after defeating Grand View University 2-0 on Tuesday evening, the Clarke University women's soccer team was unable to score in a 1-0 defeat against MidAmerica Nazarene University Saturday afternoon.
Averaging 19.3 shots a game, the Pride offense was held to only five, with only one Samantha Miller shot making it to the goal, according to the stats. Meanwhile, the Pioneers would get 19 shots up, with three on net, including Bella Leon's second goal of the season.
Leon's previous goal came on September 16th's 5-0 blowout win against Heart of America Conference opponent Culver-Stockton College.
Losing her second game of the season, Clarke keeper April Lashomb played the full 90 minutes and made two saves. MidAmerica goalie Marcella Thedinga was recorded with one save in the shutout, her second of the season.
Clarke University women's soccer will come home to play Culver-Stockton College on Tuesday, Oct. 10th beginning at 5:30 P.M. CST.
