DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Clarke University women's soccer team defeated Mount Mercy 2-0 on Wednesday (Sept. 13) evening.
The Pride took advantage of two awarded penalty kicks after being fouled inside the box each time. Senior Genevieve Cruz scored her second goal of the year in the 21st minute of the contest. Junior Shannon Catchur who missed the previous two games, made an immediate impact including a goal in the 52nd minute while also drawing the foul for the first PK.
Freshman goalkeeper April Lashomb recorded her third win of the season when she saved her only opportunity behind the strong Pride defenders.
The Pride look to continue their winning ways tomorrow night when they take on Beloit College at 7:30 pm CST at Burrows Field.
