Third-straight win for Clarke women's soccer comes in 2-0 road win over Northwestern

ORANGE CITY, Iowa - An overpowering performance carried the Clarke University women's soccer team to a 2-0 road win against Northwestern College on Friday night in Orange City, Iowa.

The Pride scored both of their goals in the first half of the game as Jamie Albertson notched her first goal of the season in the 15 minute off of an assist from Sofia Morales. With under 40 seconds remaining in the half, Genevieve Cruz scored her second of the season to make it 2-0 heading into halftime.

The rest of the game went scoreless despite the best efforts of CU as they fired 13 shots in the second frame with all eight shots on goal being saved by NWC goalkeeper Kaelin Alons as Alons made 12 saves in the game. Her counterpart, Clarke's Brynlee Ward recorded her second-straight shutout with a five-save performance over the 90 minutes of the game.

It will be a quick turnaround for the Pride as they'll head to Sioux Center, Iowa to face Dordt University on Saturday as they are scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. CT start.
