Pride suffer mid-week loss to Ottawa 21-7

OTTAWA, Kan. - Still in search for their first win of the 2022 season, the Clarke University women's lacrosse team couldn't find that result on Thursday evening as they fell by a final score of 21-7 to Ottawa University.

A strong second half where they outscored the Pride 11-2 powered the Braves to run away with the 14-goal margin of victory starting off with a 7-1 third quarter to pull ahead from 10-5 after the first half to head into the final 15 minutes up 17-6.

OU's Quinn Crandall was the game's leading scorer with a seven-goal, three-assist performance as she was supported by multi-goal performances from Cecily Anderson (5), Mackenzie Simmons (4), and Shannon Carroll (2).

For Clarke, both Alyssa Humphrey and Emily Moran finished with three goals as Moran fired 10 shots and Humphrey took five shots and snagged four ground balls. Lindsey Wanaski had the remaining goal in the game for CU as she took two shots and grabbed a pair of ground balls.

In net, Mars Beimert faced 49 shots, 41 of them going on goal to make 20 saves for a .488 save percentage over the full 60-minute contest as they continue to produce high save number despite the losses.

Clarke women's lacrosse will remain on the road for a matchup with No. 6 Benedictine College on Saturday scheduled for 12:00 p.m. CT in Atchison, Kan.
