Pride close out two-day Wartburg Invitational

WAVERLY, Iowa - Finishing out their opening week of the spring season, the Clarke University women's golf team finished up play at the Wartburg Invitational on Sunday.

The Pride wrapped up both days with their three competitors of Lilia Lindgren, Gabby Weyland, and MacKenzie Saylor completing their two rounds under breezy conditions on both days, expecially on Sunday.

Lindgren ended the tournament with the top score for CU as she carded a 93 on day one and a 110 on Sunday for a final score of 203 to finish in a tie for 68th place as Weyland finished just three total shots behind at the end of the two rounds as she finished with a 206 (98-108) then Saylor finished with a 227 (115-112) to round out the scoring for Clarke.

The team tournament was won by Bethel University (Minn.) as they finished with a two-round team score of 620 and the individual winner was Emily Kratz of Gustavus Adolphus.

Clarke women's golf will compete next on Tuesday when they travel to West Dundee, Ill. for the Judson Invite at Randall Oaks Golf Course.
