Pride end 2021-22 opening tournament with fourth place finish

GALENA, Ill. - Battling some windy conditions, the Clarke University women's golf team got through their first event of the 2021-22 season with the completion of the Clarke Invite at the South Course of Eagle Ridge Resort and Spa in Galena, Ill. on Wednesday afternoon.

The Pride finished with a team score of 433 to finish in fourth place out of the four teams competing in the event. University of Dubuque took home the team title with a final score of 364 for their team.

Individually, Gabby Weyland finished with the lowest individual score of the day with a 102 as the remainder of the team went as follows, MacKenzie Saylor finished at 104, Lilia Lindgren finished with a 111, Gracie Lange carded a 116, and Katherine Whitson ended her day with a 166.

Clarke women's golf will have somewhat of a quick turnaround as they will head to Marion, Iowa to compete in the Mount Mercy Fall Classic at Hunters Ridge Golf Course for a two-day tournament this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
