Pride bowling finishes Mid Iowa Conference event with standout individual performances

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Competing in their second event of the 2023-24 season, the Clarke University bowling teams finished with a fourth place for the men and sixth place on the women's side at the first Mid Iowa Bowling Conference event of the season.

On the men's side both Tanner Webb and Shane Jordan bowled all five games to averages over 200 pins led by Webb's 1,075 total that averaged to 215 as he was over 200 in every game at a high of 226 in the third game while Jordan had a team-high 227 game in the fourth to finish with 1,042 total pins and a 208.4 average.

A third 200 average over five games was completed on the men's side as Zach Reuter played as part of CU's JV lineup to have the overall team high for all Clarke bowlers at a 247 in the third game for the freshman to finish at a 1,036 total pin count and a 207.2 average. The two other JV team members were Cole Neitert and Samuel Schatteman who finished with 161.4 and 179.8 five-game averages respectively.

The rest of the Pride men on the varsity side saw Mannix Amos average 197 pins over three games, Harley Redding have a 196-pin average over three games, Jordan Gorgas have a 189.75 average with two games over 200 in his four games bowled, Adante Jones averged 175 pins over three games, and Justin Fichter bowl two games to a 161-pin average.

For the women, Emma Clancy had the best finish on the team for the second-straight tournament to start the season as she had a women's team-high game of 219 in the fourth game to finish with a 171.4 average for the tournament.

Kassidy Gerken and Jennifer Hayakawa were the other two Pride bowlers for the women to bowl in all five games with Gerken finishing at 836 total pins and a 167.2-pin average and Hayakawa's final average finishing at 159.6. Rounding out the scores from the women were Stephanie Thompson's four-game 152 average, Zoe Schultz finishing her three games at a 159.33 average, and Sidney Pawski averaging 132 pins over three games.

Clarke bowling will be away from competition this week before returning to action on Oct. 28-29 for the Five Seasons Classic back in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
