Pride bowling wraps up October with Five Seasons Classic

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - In their third tournament of the year, the Clarke University bowling teams both finished in seventh place at the Five Seasons Classic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Oct. 30 and 31.

The men were able to improve from their day one team result to jump up two spots from ninth to seventh at the end of the tournament after their 4322-pin team score and their 2882-pin baker score. The women held the seventh place spot on both the end of Saturday and Sunday with their 4344 team pin total then their 2698 baker pin total.

Individually, the highest finishers for each team were both in the top-10 of their field with Brenden Holl earning a fifth place finish after bowling a five-game total of 1050, just one pin behind the fourth place finisher and 61 pins behind the tournament champion. For the women's team, Mackenzie Blagojevic earned a 10th place finish after her 939 total pin finish, 42 pins behind the tournament winner.

The remainder of the Pride men's bowling team, William Clark finished with a five-game total of 884 pins, Tanner Webb scored 834 pins in five games, Adante Jones had a four-game total of 657, Jonathan Biala had 477 pins in three games, Jordan Gorgas had 325 pins in two games, and Alex Kubitz had 95 pins in his one game.

Clarke's women's team behing Blagojevic saw Ragan Carey closely behind her at 927 pins over five games, Amber Bertschinger had 855 over five games, Emma Clancy had 491 pins in three games, Brooke Puckett finished with 459 pins in three games, Stephanie Thompson scored 361 pins in two games, and Elizabeth Moser had 312 pins in her pair of games.

The Pride bowling teams will next compete at the Leatherneck Classic on Nov. 13-14 in Davenport, Iowa.
