Pride suffer first home loss of the season to No. 24 Pioneers

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Continuing their semester-ending run of home games, the Clarke University women's basketball team fell to No. 24 MidAmerica Nazarene University 102-52 on Saturday afternoon at the Kehl Center.

The Pioneers were able to used a balanced offensive attack led by Kameron Green's game-high 25 points to win every quarter by six or more points including a ressounding 27-6 third quarter to take their 23-point halftime lead and nearly double it to a 44-point lead at 78-34.

Green added 10 rebounds for a double-double while shooting 11-of-17 (64.7%) from the field as she was supported by four other players in double figures and six other players hitting at least two or more shots from the field as Aubrey Rogers went 5-for-8 (62.5%) from three to add 15 points, Grace Carlson had 11 points and seven assists, Zaylee Werth produced 10 points, and Mackenzie Manthe had a double-double of her own at 10 points and 12 rebounds.

MNU outshot CU 49.3 percent to 30.2 percent as the Pride also turned the ball over 22 times leading to 30 points for the Pioneers off of those turnovers compared to just five points off of 12 MNU turnovers for Clarke.

For CU, Zoe Kennedy's 21 points and Hailey Walters' 16 points were the only totals in double figures and each were the only ones to hit more than one shot from the field as Walters went 6-for-9 (66.7%) from the field and 4-for-5 (80%) from three while Kennedy took 20 shots to get her 21 points to finish shooting (45%) from the field.

Clarke women's basketball will play one more home game in the Heart next week to close out the 2024 portion of their conference schedule when they welcome Missouri Valley College to Dubuque for a 1:30 p.m. CT scheduled tip on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
