Pride compete at Roy Griak Invitiational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – At a meet consisting of over 30 NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA schools, the Clarke University cross-country teams left the Twin Cities with impressive performances.

The top finisher came from the women's team as Jaycie Franco finished the 6k race with a time of 24:43.6, which was good for 105th place in a field of 391. Senior, Rory Bickler crossed the finish line 25 seconds later earning herself 131st place with a time of 25:08.0.

On the men's side, freshman Chesney Capron led the way for the third straight meet, finishing the 8k race in 28:11.2, good for 158th place in a field of 460. After Capron, Eric Chatham (29:51.4), Emmett Schwartzhoff (30:27.5), Kole Haverly (30:48.3), and Charlie Juntunen (30:51.3) all finished within a minute of each other.

The women had three other finishers in the top 300 as Megan Hageman (222nd) hit a mark of 26:41.1, Samantha Callahan (278th) finished in 27:30.6, and Lydia Radeke (286th) completed with a time of 27:39.1.

Rounding out the women's finishers, Keona Coleman ran a 29:45.5, Allena Rowland finished with a time of 29:56.1, Lena Wilson crossed the finish line in 31:34.5, and Jaide Bittinger at 31:42.7.

The men's team finished the 8k race with Cord Nietert crossing the finish line in 31:43.9, Benjamin Vasquez running a 31:47.1, Bryce Kondos at 32:37.6, and Drew Pate hitting a mark of 32:46.3.

Pride cross country will have a week off before their next meet on Saturday, October 7th in Columbia, Mo. beginning at 10 am.
