Pride runners finish in the middle of a stacked field at Bradley Intercollegiate Championships

PEORIA, Ill. - In their first of multiple trips to Peoria for races hosted by Bradley University, the Clarke University cross country teams finished in sixth and eighth place at the Bradley Intercollegiate Championships on Friday evening.

The women finished in sixth out of 10 teams in the field while the men posted their eighth place out of 13 teams as the lone NAIA program in each the men's and women's races.

The highest finisher for either team came from Rory Bickler on the women's side as she finished in 22nd place at an 18:20.20 with Jaycie Franco ending closely behind in 25th place with a 18:42.40. 

The Pride men were led by freshman Chesney Capron's 58th place finish with a time of 26:53.40 as Kole Haverly (27:54.00), Drew Pate (28:15.30), Eric Chatham (28:37.00), and Charlie Juntunen (28:51.70) all finished within a minute of each other with Benjamin Vasquez and Cord Nietert closing out the Clarke times with a 29:40.40 and a 29:56.80 respectively.

CU's remaining women's times were led by freshman Megan Hageman, who finished in 37th place with a 19:22.30, followed by Lydia Radeke's 20:44.70 for 57th place, Samantha Callahan ended at 65th with a 21:16.40 time, Keona Coleman finished in 70th at a 21:29.20 and Allena Rowland rounded out the team in 72nd place at a time of 21:33.60.

Clarke cross country will run on a Friday for the second-straight week as they'll be in Minneapolis, Minn. for the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 22.
