Pride wrap up regular season at NAIA Great Lakes Challenge
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In their final race before the conference championships, the Clarke University cross country teams tested themselves in a large field at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday.
The Pride women only had four runners so could not put up a team score as the men's team placed 20th as a team out of the 30 competing teams.
CU's top women's 5K time came from Rory Bickler as she finished in 34th place with a final time of 20:17.10. Isabel Manning was able to run her personal best in her first season running cross country as she finished at a 22:40.50.
The other two runners for the Pride were Jaycie Franco, who finished in 58th place with a 20:54, and Lydia Radeke, who ran a 22:59.60.
For the men, Emmett Schwartzhoff continued to lead the team as he finished with an 8K time of 27:55.10 for a 74th place finish in the field of 280 runners.
The rest of the Clarke men's lineup finished with Carson Sansenbach running for a 28:11.80, Bryce Kondos at a 28:17, Daniel Miller finishing at a 29:26.20, Benjamin Vasquez running a 29:46.40, Kole Haverly a 31:40.80, and Noah Church at 32:14.40.
Pride cross country will have a week off of competition as they prepare for the Heart of America Championship in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, Nov. 5.
