Pride cross country boasts multiple PRs at Dan Houston Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa - In their first race in a little over two weeks, the Clarke University cross country team finished the Dan Houston Invite hosted by Wartburg College with multiple PRs and the third fastest women's 6K time in school history. 

Claire Ronnebaum once again earned a top mark in Pride cross country history with her 23:52.81, which is good enough for third all time and just six seconds away from the best 6K time ever ran at CU. Ronnebaum broke the school record for a 5K race earlier this season with her 19:02 race at Olivet Nazarene on Sept. 17.

The other four runners for Clarke women's cross country finished as follows, Rory Bickler with a 24:12.33, Ricar Mends with a 25:22.91, Marina Mercado with a 26:30.70, and Lydia Radeke with a 29:08.20.

In the men's 8K race, Benjamin VasquezJimmy Slowik, and Kole Haverly all finished with their personal best times in an 8K race as Vasquez went 29:15.59, Slowik finished at 30:00.70, and Haverly was not far behind Slowik at 30:08.18. 

Daniel Miller paced the Pride with his team-best 28:13.59 while Emmett Schwartzhoff and Brennen Shelton rounded out the times for Clarke on the day with Schwartzhoff running to a 30:24.65 and Shelton finishing at 31:17.31.
