Pride men's cross country finish Corridor Clash with 200 team points

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - In what the Clarke University men's cross country team considered a warm-up race for the 2021 season, the Pride finished with 200 team points at the Corridor XC Clash in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Friday evening.

The winning team came out of Dubuque as Loras College finished the 5K race at the top of the team standings scoring 27 points as co-host Cornell College finished in second with 76 points. 

Individually for the Pride, freshman Benjamin Vasquez finished with the top time at 17:27.87 to end the race in 43rd place overall. Emmett Schwartzhoff (17:49.65), Jimmy Slowik (18:38.93), Brennan Shelton (18:44.43), Kole Haverly (19:00.22), and Brady Lasack (19:14.68) rounded out the CU performance.

The next race for Clarke cross country will be when both the men and women travel to Davenport, Iowa for the Saint Ambrose Fighting Bee Invitational on Sept. 11.
