Pride sweep season series over Culver-Stockton after Saturday's 3-0 win

CANTON, Mo. – Wrapping up their weekend in Mo. the Clarke University men's volleyball came away with a three-set victory and winning all six sets against Culver-Stockton College on the season.

After trailing 6-0 early, the Pride would battle back for a 25-18 first set win. They would follow it up with a dominating 25-11 second set with a .650 hitting percentage and a 25-16 final set.

Clinton, Utah native Justin Hernandez and Rockford, Ill. native Stephen Lewandowski put their stamp on this one as Hernandez finished with 13 kills on 20 tries for a .500 hit percentage. Lewandowski would be more efficient in his kills getting seven on nine attacks and a .778 hitting percentage.

Seniors Erik Schmidt and Nick Palatine were also big contributors in this one as Schmidt provided 34 assists and both guys led with eight total digs.

For the Wildcats, freshman Malachi Gnade led the team in kills with 10 on 35 total attacks. Junior Jacob Todd buried six kills on 14 swings and a hit percentage of .357. Owen Randle finished with 24 assists and Drew VonFeldt as well as Aidan McGuire each had strong efforts with six digs.

The Pride men's volleyball team are looking to put a strong stamp on their season as they'll finish the 2023 campaign on a trip to Oskaloosa, Iowa to face William Penn Tuesday, March 21st starting at 7 pm CST.
