Pride open weekend road trip with 3-0 defeat to No. 11 Missouri Baptist

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The beginning of a two-match in two-day road trip to St. Louis, the Clarke University men's volleyball team dropped their Friday night match against No. 11 Missouri Baptist University by a final of 3-0.

The Spartans kept CU in the teens for each set score to win 25-14, 25-15, and 25-18 as the Pride weren't able to find an offensive rhythm as they hit for under a .100 hitting percentage in each set.

MBU was led on the attack by a pair of 7-for-11 performances from both Veljko Culibrk and Michael Olson as Culibrk held an advantage over Olson in the efficiency department with only one error and a .545 hitting percentage.

For Clarke, both Timothy Miller and Tye Ojala had five kills but there wasn't much behind that as only Zachary Barr and Stephen Lewandowski were the other members of the Pride with multiple kills compared to five members of the Spartans adding two or more kills.

Pride men's volleyball will stay in St. Louis to take on University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Saturday morning for an 11:00 a.m. CT scheduled first serve.
