Pride drop season finale 3-0 to Grand View
DES MOINES, Iowa - Closing out the 2022 season with a road match against No. 1 ranked team in the NAIA, the Clarke University men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Grand View University on Tuesday night.
The Vikings earned set wins by increasing margins as the match continued with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-15 to pull off the sweep.
Leading the entire match in kills was Grand View's Daniel Wong as he finished with 12 kills on 14 attacks without an error for a hitting percentage of .857 to lead all players in the match in both categories.
For the Pride, seniors Michael Jenkins and Montez Thompson had the two highest kill totals for the match with Jenkins finishing with a team-high nine kills and Thompson ending the match with seven kills. Both combined for 10 digs on the defensive side as well with Thompson earning a team-high six digs and Jenkins adding four digs of his own.
Clarke men's volleyball will head into the offseason finishing the 2022 campaign with a 7-20 overall record and a 3-15 record in the Heart of America Athletic Conference
