Track and Field wraps up competition at Battle of the Bluff

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Five top-five finishes highlighted the Clarke University track and field effort on Saturday at the Battle of the Bluff invite, hosted by the University of Dubuque.

Timothy Miller started off his junior season with a fourth place showing in the pole vault. The Dubuque native finished with a personal-best mark of 3.52 meters (11' 6.5"). Miller also recorded a career-best 3,856 points in the heptathlon, where he finished fifth overall.

On the women's side, Emma Grant finished second overall in her first collegiate pole vault competition, clearing the bar at a height of 3.07 meters (10' 0.75"). Samantha Kane wrapped up Clarke's top-five finishers after taking fourth in the weight throw (13.96m/45' 9.755") and fifth in the shot put (11.22m/36' 9.75"). Both marks are personal bests for the sophomore out of Fairbank.

The Pride will now shirt their focus to the Cardinal Invite, hosted by North Central College on Jan. 15.
