Pride give up three in second half in 3-0 loss to No. 14 Missouri Valley

MARSHALL, Mo. - Carrying a two-game winning streak into a matchup against the team leading the Heart stanidngs, the Clarke University men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest to Missouri Valley College on Saturday in Marshall, Mo.

A fairly even game through 45 minutes saw shots finish even at 3-3 with none on goal and corner kicks a slight advantage to the Vikings at 3-2 as the game was all square at 0-0 at the break.

It would be an explosion of chances for Missouri Vallley in the second half as they fired 12 shots to just four from the Pride as seven of them went on target and three found the back of the net in just over 16 minutes of game time from the first to last score.

Luka Perendija scored an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to break the tie, Jacob Adams scored off of an assist from Daniel Fernandez Vila in the 71st minute, and Sam Green scored from Yoshiki Igarashi in the 78th minute to essentially ice the game for MVC.

Clarke was never credited with a shot on goal in the contest as Luke Persenico and Daniel Valverde had four of the team's seven total shots at two apiece and Fernando Contreras made four saves playing all 90 minutes in goal for CU.

Next week will be the final week of the regular season as they'll prepare for a pair of road contests starting next Tuesday when they travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to take on Mount Mercy University for a 5:00 p.m. CT start against the Mustangs.
