Pride suffer tough defeat to No. 7 MidAmerica Nazarene

OLATHE, Kan. - Hoping to get their first win in five games, the Clarke University men's soccer team continued on their rough patch with a 7-1 loss at the hands of the No. 7 team in the NAIA Coaches' Poll in MidAmerica Nazarene University.

The Pride were able to get on the board first on a Hector Medrano goal for his second goal of the season but that was equalized then a lead taken over by MNU as they were able to get three before the halftime break to hold a two-goal advantage.

The Pioneers wouldn't look back in the second half, scoring four goals in the second 45 minutes to finish off their seventh win of the season and third in Heart play.

MidAmerica Nazarene would get goals from Jony Munoz, Rick Hovinga, Guilherme Galvo, and Diego Zapata as Munoz recorded a hat trick and Galvo netted two goals himself.

Clarke men's soccer will return home and prepare for a pair of home games next week starting with a Tuesday night matchup again Culver-Stockton College for a 7:30 p.m. CT scheduled kickoff at Burrows Field.
