Reddy claims Heart Defensive Player of the Week following Pride's shutout win

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A season that has started off on a strong foot, the Clarke University men's soccer team received some individual praise as junior defender Joshua Reddy earned the Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Heart officials announced on Monday.

Reddy scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over Judson University as he connected with a header from a corner kick feed in just the fourth minute of the game to give CU a 1-0 lead in the early going.

The Durbin, South Africa native has started all four of CU's games to start this season with Saturday's goal being his first of the season and first at Clarke as a transfer junior as he mans one of the two center back positions in the Clarke formation that recorded their first clean sheet of the season as they limited the Eagles to only two shots on goal of their 13 shots attempted.

Just four games in, Pride men's soccer is off to a strong 2-0-2 start as they've only give up more than one goal once in their first four contests as they'll get back on the field on Tuesday when they travel to Missouri Baptist University for a 2:00 p.m. CT kickoff for their final non-conference game of 2023.
