Pride fall 29-2 on the road against William Penn

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – In the second to last home game of the season, the Clarke University men's lacrosse team fell 29-2 Saturday afternoon against William Penn University.

The Statesmen had a consistent scoring effort, scoring at least six runs in all four quarters, including a 10 run second quarter. William Penn would score six unanswered goals before Clarke would get on the board, as Alec Kolander found the back of the net with 3:06 to play in the first.

Conner Cole found the back of the net for the Pride early in the second to score his team-leading 24th goal on the year. That goal would end a 13-0 run.

Leading the way offensively for the Statesmen was Breck Putzier's five goal, seven assist effort. Max Taylor scored four goals on five shots and assisted on two. Boston Romero, Chris Hollenbaugh, and Nate Blasingame all had three goals apiece.

Pride goalie, Jack Fritz saw 48 shots and made 19 saves. Statesmen played two in net as Dillon Woods played a majority at just over 40 minutes of action and was credited with two saves.

Up next for Pride men's lacrosse is their final road game of the year as they'll head to Marshall, Mo. for a game against Missouri Valley on April 15th starting off at 5 pm CST.
