Pride stumble in 20-1 loss

MT VERNON, Ohio – In their first road game of the season, the Clarke University men's lacrosse team were able to score just once in a 20-1 loss Friday evening against Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

The Cougars jumped out to a seven-goal lead, as Brett Townsend would score three times in the first quarter. Scoring five goals in the next two quarters, MVNU would go on a 17-0 run until the Pride would get on the score sheet.

Scoring his second goal of the season for the Pride, senior Nick Lindsay found the back of the net from Justyse White, earning his fourth assist on the season. White led CU in shots with eight and Alec Kolander finished with four attempts.

Leading the way for the Cougars was Tyler Dickerson's four goals and two assists. To add to Townsend's first quarter hat-trick, he also added four assists. Also scoring three goals was junior Johnny Grumney.

The Pride were outshot 58-15 and lost the faceoff battle 17-6.

Up next for the Pride men's lacrosse team is a home game on March 12th at noon against Madonna University.
