Fourth quarter scoring not enough in road loss to Benedictine College

ATCHISON, Kan. - Continuing their tough trek through the beginning of their season, the Clarke University men's lacrosse team dropped their road matchup to No. 8 Benedictine College 19-3 on Saturday afternoon.

The Ravens held CU scoreless through the first three periods and built up their lead to 15-0 before the Pride broke through on the scoring sheet in the fourth with two goals from Kurt Springli sandwiched around another goal scored by Tucker La Belle. Goalie Kendrik Scherer made 25 saves in 60 minutes while facing a total of 44 shots on an active day for the senior.

Benedictine had four multi-goal performances led by the six-goal game from Brady Guck supported by four goals from Jordan Rodriguez then three apiece from Michael Hogan and Sean Molyneux.

Clarke men's lacrosse will head home for Dubuque as they prepare to host William Penn University on Monday at 4:00 p.m. CT at Burrows Field.
