Pride offense sputters in 15-4 road loss to Ottawa

OTTAWA, Kan. - For the third time this season, the Clarke University men's lacrosse team was held to single digit goals as they dropped their third-straight to start the season with a 15-4 loss to Ottawa University on Thursday night.

The Pride were outscored in every quarter as they were held scoreless in the second while OU scored three or more goals in every quarter of the game.

Brandon and Vincent DeMarco were the leading scorers for the Braves as they each recorded seven points with Brandon scoring six goals and adding an assist while Vincent scored four goals and dished out three assists. Jake Noernberg and Malcom Callahan both scored two goals and William Carroll notched the final tally in the game.

Despite allowing 15 goals, Kendrik Scherer performed admirably in net with a 20-save performance on 62 total shots faced for a .571 save percentage to end the night. Both Conner Cole and Tucker La Belle notched two goals on the day for CU with the Pride's attacking combo also grabbing four ground balls each.

Clarke men's lacrosse will continue with a two-game road trip to head to Atchison, Kan. for a Saturday afternoon matchup with No. 8 Benedictine College.
