Luett finishes one shot back of a win at Black Hawk Fyre Lake Invite

SHERRARD, Ill. - In their final tournament prior to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship, the Clarke University men's golf team was highlighted by an individual tie for second place by Jacob Luett at the Black Hawk Fyre Lake Invite on Monday afternoon.

Luett fired a 76 (+6) in his 18-hole round to tie with one other golfer to finish in second place, just one shot back of the individual tournament winner of Peyton Woods of Illinois Central College, who shot a 75 (+5) to win as an individual and help lead ICC to the team title as well.

The rest of the 10-man group the Pride sent to Fyre Lake Golf Club included Jesse Fyre (T40 | 86), Jared Martinson (T53 | 89), Alijah Dopson (T53 | 89), Logan Winn (T58 | 90), Anthony Eddy (T69 | 96), Francis Resurreccion (T73 | 97), Hayden Hoekstra (T73 | 97), Drake Hammel (T76 | 98), and Mitchel Coffey (T83 | 103) as Clarke's top-five group would finish with an eighth place finish as a team and the second unit would close out the tournament in 14th.

Pride men's golf will be at The Preserve in Moravia, Iowa for the Heart Championships next week with the first two rounds starting on Apr. 29 and the final round to take place on Apr. 30.
