Salemi and Everson finish top-10 as Pride earn fourth place at Loras Invite

PEOSTA, Iowa - Finishing off their fourth round in as many days, the Clarke University men's golf team had a strong finish to the Loras Invite as they earned a fourth place team finish out of eight competing teams.

The Pride finished with a two-round total of 618 (+50) after shooting back-to-back days of 311 and 307 at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta, Iowa. 

CU was led by a pair of top-10 individual performances in Kade Salemi's fourth place 148 (+6) with rounds of 75 and 73 on Sunday and Monday and Justin Everson's tie for 10th at 152 (+10) as the junior carded rounds of 75 and 77.

The rest of the five-man team that contributed to Clarke's score saw Alex McLeland finish at 156 (+14) with rounds of 81 and 75, Ben Baker shoot a 164 (+22) with rounds of 80 and 84, and Francis Resurreccion ended the tournament at 170 (+28) after rounds of 88 and 82.

The Pride also took three individuals to compete in the tournament at Jesse Frye was the highest finisher in a tie for 31st after he shot an 82 and 79 to finish with a tournament total of 161 (+19). Cole Runde (82-85=167) and Nick Stroschein (85-85=170) rounded out the full group for Clarke with 44th and 48th place finishes.

Next up for CU men's golf will be a one-day event in the Match Play at The Chalet on Thursday in New Glarus, Wis. at the Edelweiss Chalet Country Club.
