Fichter's 300 game highlights Pride bowling's trip to Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Heading east to finish out regular season competition, the Clarke University bowling teams produced various promising individual performances, highlighted by a 300 game on the men's side.

Freshman Justin Fichter was the individual to bowl a perfect 300 in the second game of the individual portion of the tournament on Saturday as he also produced two other games over 200 pins to finish at a 198.33-pin average, good for third on the team and 105th place in the total field of 586 bowlers.

Harley Redding and Tanner Webb were the only other members of the Pride men's team to bowl all six individual games as Redding finished in the top-100 with a 203.17 average for 72nd place while Webb finished just a pin better than Fichter at his 199.33 six-game average for 100th place.

On the women's side, both Emma Clancy and Kassidy Gerken finished in the top half of the individual field with Clancy producing the best single game score outside of the 300 from Fichter as she bowled a 266 in game three to finish at 1,097 total pins and a 182.83 average and Gerken, who also had one game over 200, wasn't far behind with her 180.17 average to finish in 143rd place out of 471 total bowlers.

The remainder of the CU bowlers finished individual games as followed (average/games), on the men's side Mannix Amos (182.67/3) Adante Jones (170.00/5), Shane Jordan (152.50/2), and Zach Reuter (167.50/2) saw action then on the women's side Stephanie Thompson (176.60/5), Emily Larson (177.40/5), Sidney Pawski (158.75/4), and Jennifer Hayakawa (102.50/4) rounded out the Pride squad.

Clarke bowling will have this upcoming weekend off before they head back to Kansas for the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships in Topeka on Feb. 24-25.
