Pride bowling takes eighth and 15th place finishes at Kohawk Invite
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Beginning the month of February with a trip to Coe College's hosted Kohawk Invite, the Clarke University bowling teams came away with an eighth place finish for the women and a 15th place finish for the men this past weekend.
The Pride women scored 7,387 pins over the two days combined as Kassidy Gerken placed the highest on the leaderboard for CU with a five-game score of 933 to finish in 39th place out of the 155 individuals eligible to compete.
Clarke's five women's bowlers that scored in all five games were somewhat clumped together in the standings between Gerken's spot of 39th and Brooke Puckett at 57 as Puckett scored 890, Amber Bertschinger scored an even 900 in 49th, Ragan Carey finished at 904 in 48th, and Mackenzie Blagojevic ended her tournament with 908 pins to finish in 44th place.
The men's team was led by seniors Brendan Holl and William Clark as Holl finished in 26th place with 999 pins over five games while Clark scored 879 pins for the Pride to finish in 68th place. The remainder of the CU men's team finished as such, Adante Jones bowled four games to finish with a 766 pin count, Tanner Webb scored 690 pins in four games, Mannix Amos bowled three games with 525 pins, Jordan Grogas bowled three games with 506 pins, and Alex Kubitz put up a single game score of 145.
Pride bowling will take a week off from action before competing in their final regular season event of the year in Indianapolis, Ind. for the Hoosier Classic on Feb. 18-19.
