Fierst earns Heart Player of the Week after pair of 30-point performances

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In their final three home games of the season, Clarke University men's basketball junior Jacob Fierst earned his second Heart of America Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor of the season.

Fierst previously earned a Player of the Week honor on Jan. 3 as the only member of the Pride to receive this weekly honor twice of the season after Keith Johnson also earned a Player of the Week honor for CU on Dec. 6.

It was a strong scoring and rebounding week for the forward out of West Allis, Wis. as he averaged 30.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game over the week last week with a pair of double-doubles against Culver-Stockton College and Iowa Wesleyan University on Friday and Sunday.

In those back-to-back games, first against the Wildcats Fierst scored 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, both career highs at the time, then followed that up on Sunday with a 39-point, 12-rebound double-double for a new career-high in scoring that also ranked No. 6 all-time in Clarke men's basketball history for points in a game.

Fierst and the Pride will finish off their season on the road starting with a matchup with No. 1 William Penn University this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. CT in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
