Pride click on all cylinders in 10-1 win over Arizona Christian

MESA, Ariz. - In the middle of their three-game trip out to Arizona, the Clarke University baseball team earned a 10-1 win over Arizona Christian University on Monday night behind a combined one-hitter from the CU pitching staff.

Pride right-handers Devan Quesada and Brendan Boily allowed a single hit as Quesada tossed six no-hit innings and Boily came in to allow the lone hit in the seventh but kept the Firestorm in check all game with the lone hit and one run while handing out eight free passes. Quesada's six innings finished with the junior's fourth win in five starts as he gave up the lone run allowed on a bases loaded sacrifice fly as he struck out eight ACU batters and walked five while Boily walked three, allowed the hit, and struck out four on his way to the three-inning save.

Offensively, eight of the nine starters finished with a hit as the top-four in the batting order and the seven-hole finished with two hits as Victor Lara finished with the biggest night of the game going 2-for-5 with three RBIs, two runs scored, and the cherry on top of the blowout with with a two-run home run in the top of the ninth.

Bryce Simon (2-for-4, two runs), Maguire Fitzgerald (2-for-4, two RBIs, one run), Bubba Thompson (2-for-5, one RBI), and Bryce Hinton (2-for-5) all had multi-hit games as Jordan Sadovia added a hit and two RBIs on the night getting the start at DH.

Clarke baseball will finish up in Arizona with their final game on Tuesday afternoon when they face Benedictine University at Mesa for a 3:00 p.m. CT/2:00 p.m. MT scheduled first pitch against the Redhawks.
