Grace Squires has been voted on by the Clarke Community as the Pride Female Athlete of the Week for the athletic week that started on Monday, Feb. 16 and wrapped up on Sunday, Feb. 22.

Squires received 34 percent of the vote in the poll sent out to Clarke's campus for her performance last week at the Heart of America Indoor Championships last weekend for the Pride women's track and field team.

The senior from Minnesota was able to win the pole vault event at the indoor conference championships with a 3.25-meter bar clearance in her second attempt at the height, beating second place by 0.15 meters.

With the win, Squires earned her sixth total pole vault conference championship in seven tries as she has only not been the women's pole vault conference champion in either the indoor or outdoor championships one time in her four year career so far.

Squires continues her training now in preparation for the 2026 outdoor track and field season with the first outdoor meet for the Pride coming on Mar. 28 when they travel to Pella, Iowa for the Central Invitational.
