A native of Dubuque and a product of Wahlert Catholic High School, Scott Savary was the first student-athlete recruited and signed by Clarke's baseball program. 

In his final season at Clarke, Savary batted a team-high .427 and had a team-best .710 slugging percentage.  He also led that squad in games played (38), at-bats (124), runs (29), hits (53), RBI (34), doubles (7), triples (5), home runs (6), stolen bases (14) and on-base percentage (.497). He had a .987 fielding percentage.

As a junior, Savary batted .333 and led the Crusaders in games played, at-bats (120), runs (32), hits (40), RBIs (29), home runs (4) and slugging percentage (.525). Savary had a .418 on-base percentage and a .974 fielding percentage.

A two-time MVP, Savary earned Midwest Classic Conference All-Conference and NAIA All-District 15 honors in 1994. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the Major League Baseball June amateur draft following his graduation.

In 1991, Clarke's inaugural season, Savary led the Crusaders in RBIs (25), doubles (7) and home runs (3). He had a .461 slugging percentage and a .973 fielding percentage.

Savary is Clarke's all-time RBI leader with 112 and continues to rank in the Top 10 in many of the Crusaders' career statistical categories. He ranks third in triples (9), home runs (15) and slugging percentage (.578), fourth in batting average (.363), fifth in doubles (28), sixth in runs (96) and on-base percentage (.443), seventh in at-bats (424) and ninth in games played (137).

Savary was cited as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 1994 and was the recipient of the Ed Colbert Athletics Career Achievement Award.

Savary was a member of the Dean's List multiple times and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and a bachelor of arts degree in business administration.

Scott and his wife, Dawn, have three children, Alex, Austin, and Aaron.
