Julie Bokermann, of St. Louis, Mo., came to Clarke in 1997 after graduating from St. Joseph's Academy, where she competed in soccer and tennis.  At Clarke, Bokermann participated in soccer, softball and tennis.

As a member of Clarke's tennis program, Bokermann won seven Northern Illinois – Iowa Conference tennis titles and was a member of four NIIC conference championship teams.  She was the No. 4 singles champion in 1997, the No. 3 singles champion in 1998, and the No. 2 singles champion in 1999. Bokermann claimed four No. 1 doubles titles. She was named the 1998 NIIC Player of the Year.

Bokermann compiled a 105-22 overall record (47-11, singles; 58-11 doubles) and was 57-3 overall in conference play, including a 30-0 mark in doubles action. Her 105 combined wins tops Clarke's four-player 100-win club and her 82.6 winning percentage is the highest among four-year players.

Bokermann picked up four varsity letters in softball and was a member of the 1999 NIIC championship team. She earned two varsity letters in soccer and competed on the 1998 NIIC championship squad.

While at Clarke, Bokermann began running to stay in shape and now has a passion for running marathons. She ran three marathons in college and has now completed 19 marathons, 24 half-marathons and two triathlons.

Bokermann received her bachelor of arts degree in human health science and her master of science degree in physical therapy.

Since graduating from Clarke, Bokermann has become a certified athletic trainer and a certified strength and conditioning specialist. She has been employed by PRORehab since graduating from Clarke, and currently serves as clinic director at the St. Charles, Mo., PRORehab.
