1998 graduate Jill (Christopher) Kalvig was a standout performer on Clarke's basketball, softball and tennis programs following her graduation from Decorah High School.

Kalvig collected nine varsity letters while competing for the Crusaders. The four-time all-conference selection in softball was a three-time Conference Player of the Year honoree. Kalvig was a three-time MVP and was a member of Clarke's 1997 conference championship team. She continues to be the career leader in batting average (.427), slugging percentage (.625), on-base percentage (.449), hits (183), doubles (40) and triples (15).

Kalvig was a two-time all-conference selection as a member of Clarke's basketball program. She was voted the 1996-97 team MVP and was a member of the Crusaders' 1997-98 conference championship team. Kalvig still holds the school record for three-point field goal made in a game (9).

As member of Clarke tennis program, Kalvig was named the 1997 NIIC Tennis Player of the Year after claiming league singles and doubles titles. Kalvig was a member of two conference championship teams and compiled a 31-1 career record singles and a 29-4 career record in doubles. She was the No. 2 singles champion in 1996 and 1997, and claimed the No. 1 doubles title in 1997.

Kalvig was the 1997-98 recipient of the Clarke Senior Female Athlete of the Year Award.

Kalvig graduated magna cum laude and received her bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. She was a two-time academic all-conference honoree, and as a senior, she was named an academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Kalvig furthered her education at Graceland University, where she received a master of education degree. Kalvig also has a physical education endorsement from Wartburg College and a talented and gifted endorsement from Morningside College.

Kalvig is a teacher with the Nashua-Plainfield Community Schools.

Jill and her husband, Michael, reside in Nashua, Iowa, with their children, Christopher and Elizabeth.
