Galena, Ill., native Jennifer Brotzman Calvert is the only student-athlete in Clarke basketball history to score over 1,000 career points and grab over 1,000 career rebounds.
A 1994 graduate of Clarke, Calvert finished her career as the school's all-time leading rebounder (1,006) and second all-time leading scorer (1,361). She continues to hold the career rebounding record and currently ranks fourth on the career scoring chart.
Calvert garnered Midwest Catholic Conference second-team All-Conference honors as both a sophomore and senior. She was cited as an honorable mention all-conference performer by league coaches following her freshman and junior seasons.
Following her sophomore season, Calvert was selected to the NAIA District 15 All-District squad. She started all 30 games that season, averaging 12.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
Calvert played in 105 games, averaging 13 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. She owns the single-season record for free throws made in a season (134) and ranks second in career free throws made (337) and field goal percentage (.506), third in rebounding average (9.6) and blocked shots (131), fourth in field goals made (512), sixth in steals (164), and eighth in scoring average (13 ppg) and free throw percentage (.675).
Calvert is a 1990 graduate of Galena High School, where she competed in basketball, softball and track and field.
In her Clarke University Hall of Fame questionnaire, Calvert wrote "In 1997 I was a passenger in a rollover accident, leaving me a quadriplegic. Being an athlete at Clarke was a great opportunity and it assisted me when recovering from the accident and motivated me to work hard. I cherish the memories and use them in everyday life when needing motivation."
Calvert received her bachelor of arts degree in computer information systems/management information systems for Clarke. She is currently employed by IBM.
Jennifer and her husband, Matthew, reside in Galena, Illinois.
