Peosta, Iowa, native and Western Dubuque High School product Jay Harris wrapped up his collegiate basketball career in 2003 as Clarke's third all-time leading scorer (1,643) and seventh all-time leading rebounder (557). The three-time, all-conference selection still ranks fourth on the all-time scoring chart. He pulled down 17 rebounds, the third highest single-game total in school history, against UW-Platteville on Dec. 30, 2002.

Harris averaged 20.3 points as a sophomore, 19 points and a junior and 18.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as a senior. For his career, Harris shot 50.7 percent from the field.

Harris garnered team MVP honors following his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. He was voted the recipient of the basketball program's Newcomer of the Year Award as a freshman.

In his Hall of Fame inductee letter, Harris said "I would like the Clarke Community to know/remember the effort I put into both academics and athletics while at Clarke. Also, probably one of the memories I am most proud of is being part of the first Clarke men's basketball team to have a winning season and then getting better each and every year after that."

Harris received his bachelor of arts degree in business, with emphasis in finance, accounting and marketing in 2003. He is currently employed at Honkamp Krueger in Dubuque.

Jay and his wife, Sarah, have three children, Will, Cole, and Ted.
