Corene Shannon Peloquin is a product of Mother McAuley High School in Chicago, where her volleyball skills landed her a spot in the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. The Chicago native and 1996 graduate of Mother McAuley brought her enthusiasm and talent to Clarke and made her mark on the Crusaders’ volleyball program.

Peloquin was voted the recipient of the Clarke volleyball program Newcomer of the Year Award following her freshman year in 1996. She followed that up by being recognized as a Northern Illinois–Iowa Conference All-Conference selection in 1997, 1998 and 1999. Peloquin was a two-time most valuable player, picking up the honor as a junior and senior. She served two years as a team captain.

Corene ranks first in career digs (1,940) and service aces (353), second in career kills (1,290) and total points (1,817), third in career attack attempts (4,128) and digs per set (3.98), seventh in block solos (94) and block assists (160) and ninth in total blocks (254).

She served as the head sophomore boys’ volleyball coach at Marist High School from 2008 to 2013 and currently coaches volleyball at St. John Fisher School. She does volunteer fundraising work with Misericordia Heart of Mercy.

Peloquin received her bachelor of science in nursing degree from Clarke in 2000. She has been employed at Little Company of Mary Hospital since 2003, where she serves as a member of the emergency room nurse team.

Corene and her husband, Daniel, reside in Evergreen Park, Ill., and have three children, Aidan, Brynn, and Eoghan.
