BASKETBALL, GOLF
Dubuque native and Wahlert High School product Chad Schockemoehl competed in both basketball and golf at Clarke. During his basketball career, he was a three-time all-conference basketball selection. Schockemoehl was a three-time recipient of Clarke's Most Valuable Player Award, was a three-time team captain, and was a four-time academic all-conference performer.
Schockemoehl finished his career ranked second on the college's all-time scoring (1,239 points) and rebounding (692) charts. His rebounding total still ranks second and his scoring total is the fifth best.
Schockemoehl recorded a triple double (19 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists) against Iowa Wesleyan College and was the only player in school history to earn NCBT all-tournament team honors. He made the game-winning shot in Clarke's first-ever victory over the University of Dubuque, a 1994 matchup at the Robert and Ruth Kehl Center.
As a senior, Schockemoehl was twice selected as the conference player of the week and was an NAIA All-Region selection. In 1997, he was named a Bill Bradley Scholastic All-American and was presented the Ed Colbert Senior Male Athlete of the Year Award.
Schockemoehl picked up one varsity letter in golf and earned academic all-conference honors that season.
A member of Clarke's Dean's List from 1993 through 1997, Schockemoehl graduated Magna Cum Laude, receiving his bachelor of arts degree in history.
Schockemoehl is the K-12 national sales manager for Kendall Hunt Publishing.
Chad and his wife, Nichole (Fessler), a 1998 graduate of Clarke, reside in Dubuque with their children, Luke, Jacob, Makayla, Maria and Anna.
